Mission Central is certainly blessed with wonderful volunteers who donate their time and services to accomplish the ministry God has entrusted to us.

WHO MAY VOLUNTEER?

All ages are welcome to participate in this ministry. We work with any individual, organization, or religious denomination. The size of volunteer groups varies depending on available tasks and participants. Usually group sizes range from 5 to 20. We recommend no more than 30 people here at one time unless special arrangements have been made.

WHAT WORK WILL BE DONE?

Our Volunteers work on a variety of tasks.

  • Assemble, verify and pack UMCOR Relief Kits
  • Sort donated materials
  • Warehouse labor: stack, move, wrap, etc.
  • Maintain the facility
  • Sweep, Vacuum, Mop, Wipe
  • Lawn & Yard maintenance
  • Truck loading/unloading
  • Inventory
  • Data Entry

WHEN TO VOLUNTEER?

Most groups volunteer for 2 to 3 hours at a time, but many volunteer for an entire day or an entire week. Our hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM and Saturday 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. View our Activity Calendar to help plan your trip to Mission Central.

We are located at 5 Pleasant View Drive, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050.

HOW TO VOLUNTEER?

If you would like to volunteer at Mission Central, select a date when you would like to visit, then call (717-766-1533) or email (missioncentral@cpcumc.org) us with the size and ages of your group and the type of work you are capable of performing. FACILITIES
SNACK ROOM: We have a snack room that consists of a refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, coffee pot and utensils. The room seats about 26 people. We have no food provisions but free drinks are available for volunteers. Restaurants are nearby or you may bring a lunch.
LODGING: For anyone traveling long distances, several local churches are willing to provide accommodations. Motels are nearby.
