UMCOR Kit Collection Focus for 2008 Annual Conference

As in previous years, Mission Central will be collecting UMCOR Kits at Annual Conference at Messiah College, June 5th to June 7th. We are focusing our efforts on collecting Health and School Kits but as usual, we will accept any of your materials for any of the UMCOR Kits. We recently sent a load of 11, 000 kits to Sager Brown, plus kits to Africa and the Dominican Republic, so our stocks are very low! With the hurricane season almost upon us, we are trying to re-supply so we can be ready for the next need. There will be three drop-off locations around the campus plus a room outside of “Brubaker B” for drop offs before or after conference sessions. Health Kits and Materials Needed at Mission Central for Flood and Hurricane Seasons
|
Mission Central recently sent a truck load of UMCOR Kits to the UMCOR Depot at Sager Brown, LA. We have also sent Health Kits to Kyrgyzstan and will be sending more Health Kits to the Dominican Republic, Sierra Leone, and Ecuador in the next 3 weeks. After these shipments are completed, we will have less than 2,000 Health Kits on hand!

We are asking for either completed kits or the ingredients for our volunteers to make them here. We have the volunteers – you can help us keep them busy by collecting the parts as quickly as possible!

| Bulk Cloth for “UMCOR School Kit Bags” Needed
We need medium weight pieces of cloth that are heavy enough for school bags and can yet be sewn on home machines. If you or someone you know has cloth that you don’t need – we can put it to very good use! Please bring the cloth to Mission Central.
